Designed by Anishinaabe-Metis artist, Fallon Simard, this Beanie draws inspiration from the Contrary Figure in Anishinaabe worldview and culture. Traditionally, the Contrary Figure is a role that goes against the norms inherent in cultural practices. In designing the figure and adding the text, “Stay Contrary”, the Beanie provides the wearer with a call to action of creating rebellion in permanence.
